What's in a name?

This home is named after Ostara, or Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring, the East, dawn, resurrection and rebirth. Today we derive ‘Easter’ from her name, and like many other similar celebrations across cultures, she represents spring’s life force and the Earth’s renewal after winter. Her name is also closely connected to Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn. Like spring itself, she is said to be capricious, innocent but also knowing by turns. Her themes are fertility and rebirth. Her symbols are hares and eggs.
