What's in a name?

We named this home after Faunus, the horned god of the forest, plains and music in ancient Roman myth, equated with the Greek god Pan. Faunus was one of the oldest Roman deities, said to be a legendary king of a Latins. In later times he was said to act in two distinct capacities: first, as the god of fields and shepherds, and secondly, as an oracle and prophetic divinity. Two festivals, called Faunalia, were celebrated in his honour. Like Pan, he is shown with the legs and horns of a goat.
